Jabbar Muhammad (b. Bandung, 1986) completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Fine Arts (2008, 2012) from the Institute of Technology Bandung, Faculty of Art and Design. As an artist, Jabbar has actively exhibited in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. He was the twice-recipient of the UOB Painting of Year Award (2015, 2017), as well as the Bandung Contemporary Art Award (BACAA) in 2015. Jabbar’s previous practice was focused on abstracting human figures. Since the pandemic, Jabbar began exploring issues that are linked to developments in social media, including but not limited to patterns of consumption, communication, and information on digital platforms.
