Liza Markus (b. 1995, Jakarta) is an Indonesian art practitioner trained as a sculptor at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. She is interested in art, tradition, and religion but has since taken a more cynical view of all three. More recently, she is partial towards readymade artworks with minimal interventions. Presently, regarding writing and research practice, she focuses on media theory, usually realised in projects with Anathapindika (Dika). The duo dika+lija has recently been part of the BAK (Basis voor Actuele Kunst) Fellowship of Situated Practice, and published a public pedagogy journal for the Victoria University. On the day to day basis, Liza has taken a more managerial role in the exhibition-making process. She is currently working as a gallery manager.
